A brand new Pretzel shop has opened in Loulé

A brand new Pretzel shop has opened in Loulé beside the market hall, just off the roundabout. @bom.pretzel is the only Pretzel stand in the Algarve, and actually possibly the whole of Portugal! Diana and her husband Aurel are Romanian and have been living in Portugal for 9 years. Diana explained to me that in countries like Romania, Ukraine, Moldovia, etc, pretzels are a seriously popular snack! The air in the streets wherever you go smells of warm pretzels. Diana searched everywhere to find pretzels here in Portugal, but they weren’t to be found, which inspired her to bring this savoury, healthy treat to the Algarve which you can eat fresh.
Diana and Aurel and their friendly team make the pretzels in their Loule shop right in front of you, the dough is folded into that famous pretzel shape, boiled in water for a few moments, and then dipped in seeds and placed in the cooker.
They are cooking up some new pretzel options soon, such as chocolate pretzels and ‘pretzel dogs’ which are similar to a corn dog.
Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, so feel free to drop in to them in Loule to try out this unique treat in the Algarve.
