The Visit to Sesil Home

This week we shine a Spotlight on Sesil Home on Rua do Comercio in Almancil.
This shop is a bit of a hidden gem for home decor enthusiasts; its exterior has an elegant beach feel to it, but you won’t realise how big the shop is until you walk through it. It really is a multi-room wonderland of home decor. Each room leads to another, filled with characterful pieces, many of which are very in-style, while also maintaining the charm of the Algarve. You can find beautiful items; chairs, tables, paintings, pillows, candles, tiles, doorstops, coat hooks. It's nearly impossible not to find something that you’ll connect with.

Sesil is family-run and has been for generations. I spoke with Isabel, who explained to me that her grandparents opened the business with a shop in Olhao in 1992, which is open to this day. At the time, their focus was on Portuguese traditional arts & crafts, ceramics, and hand-painted tiles. When her grandparents retired, Isabela’s parents, Sergio & Silvia, took over and eventually, Isabela and her brother Joao joined. The team expanded further and they opened 2 showrooms/shops in Almancil as well as the original in Olhao. Around 2010, they began to move their focus to general home decor and interior design, and over time they have created something very special out of their endeavour.

They’re committed to providing a comprehensive interior design experience from start to finish. Their team works closely with numerous suppliers, ensuring a wide range of options for their customers. It would be ideal for furnishing a rental property or preparing a home for sale. The family manage to capture the essence of the Algarve lifestyle in a lovely and unique way.

Opening hours are from Monday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 6.30 pm.
