Dona Steakhouse

This week we shine the Spotlight on Dona Steakhouse on Almancil Main Street.
Founded by chef Eduardo Barsotti, it is newly opened in May this year and is well worth a try if you haven’t visited it yet!

Eduardo started his cooking journey back in Brazil, where he hosted regular Sunday barbecues for his family. He decided to go to London to train as a Cordon Bleu chef, and opened his first steakhouse in 2012 which quickly became one of the Top 20 Restaurants in London as voted by food lovers on Trip Advisor.

Eduardo believes passionately in the hearty and ancient style of cooking that originated as the cuisine of the gauchos who herded cattle across the great plains of South America, and he always aspires to bring those exotic flavours to his dishes. Dona Steakhouse uses the finest cuts of meat, cooked beautifully using Eduardo's grilling techniques, the portions are generous and food is clearly cooked with great care. They offer a unique couvert, which goes beyond the standard, with homemade bread, meat skewers, and jam. They offer very good cocktails with a large selection of both cocktails and wine.

The restaurant has multiple areas which are filled with trendy decor. The indoor area has themed old fashioned South American decor, the bar is stylish with impressive silk flower arrangements and a lush plant wall.

A visit to the bathroom becomes an experience in itself with funky decor, neon lights, and silk flower walls - a quirky touch that adds fun to the whole outing.

To top it all off, the very friendly staff adds a touch of warmth to the entire experience, making you feel right at home.

They open 6pm every day except Sunday.
