This week’s Spotlight is on Brookes Wine Bar & Shop, a lively wine bar which opened within the last year in Quinta Shopping.

Algarve Candle Co is this week’s Spotlight, owned by mother and daughter duo, Lauren & Pamela. 

Spot na Serra, near Querença, is this week’s Spotlight; Adrienne in our office picked this lovely cafe as one of her favourite spots. Opened on 15/09/2023, Apphia and Daniel moved from London to Portugal in December ‘22. They lived in London for many years & both worked in hospitality (Daniel in a wine shop, Apphia in a café), but this is their first time owning their own. Over the years they shared a passion for cafes, scouting them out & planning trips around ones they wanted to visit, so they decided to open one – a place for great coffee amongst beautiful nature.
 

ARA is hosting a fundraising dinner to aid the most vulnerable animals in our community. The impactful work carried out by ARA is truly heartwarming and essential for the well-being of numerous dogs and cats in the Algarve who have been subjected to abuse or abandonment.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dunes Beach Bar at Garrao Beach, I was really impressed with the range of offerings that cater to diverse tastes and preferences.

Today, Taste of Asia in Almancil is celebrating their 3 year anniversary! Plus their relocation to a larger shop next to the original, just off of Avenida 5 de Outubro.
They’re welcoming guests to drop in & celebrate with them today, with bubble tea & tasting of food made by Geraldine available from 10am - 5pm, and a raffle with the chance to win Taste of Asia products.
If you’re curious to know more about Taste of Asia, it’s owned by DJ who is originally from the Philippines, and her ambitions for the store are to turn it into the ultimate Asian Convenience Store. At the moment they offer groceries, frozen foods (including gyozas and samosas homemade by Geraldine), delivery & collection, and you can order ready-made meals. The team is growing. DJ’s business partner, Helder, takes care of logistics & marketing, & also takes care of deliveries within the locality. Ana is the Corporate Associate.

Villeroy & Boch Second Store Open in Quinta Shopping, Quinta do Lago

This week we bring the Spotlight to Gaivota Restaurant, easily accessible as it’s located by the parking area at the very end of Quarteira promenade on Forte Novo Beach. The restaurant sits between a serene green area shaded by trees and the popular beach spot, offering lovely sea views and sunset views. "Gaivota," which means seagull in Portuguese, is a fitting name because you'll often spot flocks of seagulls flying overhead in the distance while you're there.

This week, our Spotlight turns to Cafe Fresco, a new music bar in Almancil, which is dedicated to providing a unique experience for locals.

This week we shine the Spotlight on Dona Steakhouse on Almancil Main Street.
Founded by chef Eduardo Barsotti, it is newly opened in May this year and is well worth a try if you haven’t visited it yet!
